Gateau De Sirop (Syrup Cake)

This cake uses pure cane syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, and more


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups PURE CANE SYRUP
  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter until soft, add sugar and blend well. Add eggs and mix. Add milk, syrup, flour, soda and spices and mix until well blended.
  3. Pour into 13x9x2 inch pan which has been lined with greased waxed paper. Be sure pan is at least two inches deep as this cake will rise up fully to 2 inches.
  4. Bake 55 minutes to 1 hour (or until cake springs back when touched with finger tip.)
  5. Cool in pan and turn out.
